Helicopter Fishing Makes “Skishing” Look Pedestrian
The latest craze with the waterman of Montauk is “skishing”, which is like fishing, but different.
You don a wesuit and swim fins, grab your fishing pole, and swim out into the ocean a few hundred yards. Try to hook a striped bass, and if you catch one hook a ride as the strong beast tows you around in the chilly Atlantic until it tires. You can release or eat it.
One guy ended up in a rip current off Montauk’s lighthouse and was picked up 12 hours later by a commercial fishing boat, closer to Block Island than Montauk.
I thought that was completely insane until I saw this video. Aussies are out of their minds.
