Deals have been falling apart left and right, and Acxiom’s (ACXM-NASDAQ) deal is today’s casualty. Shareholders have been taking their lumps for years in this stock, and now get to start anew. Wall Street has never quite embraced this company’s management team, but somebody will have to deal with them if they remain public. I have never been to Arkansas, but if they can find a competent successor to Charles Morgan there finally might be a reason to. I am not very smart, and have never been able to figure out what this company does, despite countless meeting with management. The private equity and activists involved here might be brighter than me, although they probably don’t feel like it today.
