traderIt's no wonder A.G. Edwards has shown up on Fortune's list of the best companies to work for eight times: The full-service brokerage firm with 700 offices around the country spends more of its revenues on paying employees than just about any other firm--65 cents of every dollar that comes in compared to an industry average of about 50 cents. Client satisfaction is high too, notes Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Brad Hintz, before delivering the bad news: "It may be great to be a client and a broker of A.G. Edwards, but I'm not sure it's great to be a stockholder." The result? The firm could be a vulnerable take-over target. A.G. Edwards: Generous to Fault [On Wall Street] Products & Services [A.G.
