Traders and investors love to make fun of the talking heads on CNBC, but not everything at the channel is a short.

Ron Insana was the star of the channel in my book. He left to start a fund of funds, but might have struggled to attract assets and is taking another role on the Street, skating over to Steve Cohen’s shop

CNBC’s Ron Insana, the veteran anchor who left the chair in February 2006 and became a senior analyst, is leaving Insana Capital Partners, the company he started upon leaving CNBC full-time.

“He plans to join S.A.C. Capital, the Stamford hedgefund company, as a managing director,” reported CNBC correspondent Melissa Lee today.

Welcome to the sharktank, Ron. This should get your wife Melinda off your back.....good move.

Comments:

That FNN clip is classic. Ron’s a pompous little A-hole, so condescending once he left the anchor chair. But hey he is better qualified to run money that some jagoff that took a Web2.0 company public.
