We have been reading about how Facebook has already vanquished LinkedIn, and traffic patterns would certainly seem to bear it out. But many people on Wall Street live in their office. How are you supposed to spend time on Facebook if it is blocked by your IT manager?
Apparently 2/3 banks in London have blocked the use of Facebook in the office. And I can see why. Not only do parents spy on their kids friends, old fogies lust at the revealing pictures of graduates swimming in the river cam wearing see-thru t-shirts [Editor: steady] and highly paid employees waste time trying to avoid being a facebook hermit. Facebook might be steamrolling everyone, but LinkedIn might offer one thing Facebook does not have. Respectability.
At least with the IT gatekeepers who control access to information on Wall Street.. What good is Facebook if you can’t access it? True, LinkedIn could suffer the same fate.
But it would seem that adults are more apt to use it for legitimate purposes....unlike the games kids play on Facebook.
