BlackRock Moves to All-Time Highs

The O’Neal era at Merrill Lynch unraveled rather abruptly, but not everything touched by the Thundering Herd is falling apart. Their stake in BlackRock, Inc. has appreciated considerably over 2007, and the $3 billion gain in the market value of Merrill’s stake might take some of the sting out of fixed income write downs. For feet on the Street, asset management shops are the place to be, a sentiment many BlackRock employees likely share as they watch their stock options gain in value.
