Catfight at CNBC
Liz Claman’s departure at CNBC set off a number of dominos. The upside is that the old cast of Squawk Box may be reunited more often, even if they don’t work under the same roof. Joe Kernen, David Faber and Mark Haines had undeniable chemistry back in the shows glory days.
Today’s CNBC segment on the Amazon.com penguins made us a bit teary eyed around here, and the channel should exploit the new 2-hour Squawk on the Street format and get the band back together more often.
Of course the missing ingredient in all of this this is Maria Bartiromo, who has been on vacation. Or perhaps working on her new show…
“The CNBC financial reporter will start her own show with that name, produced by her own production company, she tells Hamptons magazine...” TV Newser
Erin Burnett is being called Maria 2.0 and her growing popularity might not be sitting so well with the Money Honey.
We have no particulars about Maria’s contract status, or if her missteps over the past year have dimmed her star with top brass. But much like us, she is not getting any younger.
And while Erin might not be looking to vanquish Maria, I bet the 31-year old is gunning for Alexis Glick over at the Fox News Channel. Either way, we could be in for a good catfight.
