Denim Day at Bear Stearns a Once in a Lifetime Event
The stuffed shirts at Bear Stearns, a longtime holdout against the casual dress trend, will get to loosen up a little for one day only on November 23. The move comes on the heels of the firm’s merchant banking division’s recent investment in the trendy jean maker Seven for All Mankind (or Seven, as the kids are calling it these days). Apparently, it didn’t take much cajoling to get CEO James Cayne on board with the plan--especially when he learned he’d get a free pair of jeans out of the deal. In related news, Mr. Cayne was overheard discussing his pending move from the Upper East Side to Nolita. And in case you’re wondering about that bear in the photo, BS will be selling it on jeans day to raise money for charity.
