Blogs are en fuego.  60 million strong and doubling in number every seven months. Heady stuff, straight from Technorati. There have to be some good shorts out there...a slowing in growth will compress multiples somewhere. We need to look into that. Of course, maybe UTC is a short.

Short or not, we are celebrating a belated birthday today. The first post under the new regime here was a scant two months ago...

Art Imitates My Life

Although we were never part of the Billionaire Boys Club that gained notoriety in the 80’s, we were members of a more notorious cabal for many years. One that featured private jets to the Super Bowl, sky boxes in the Bronx, steaks at Sparks and the obligatory back rooms at strip clubs.

This cabal is called the buyside. And although the sexy hedge fund side of it beats working for the vanilla mutual fund side...it’s all the same. It’s about getting your ass kissed by the sellside as you play god with the commission stream that is their lifeblood.

It’s about partying like a rock star with a job on the side.

We will leave the high road to others. Hell, let them eat cake.

Because we can’t wait for this show to hit HBO… from the creators of Entourage.

And at the end of the post we gave credit where it was due…

Boy’s night out at HBO-Ellin’s next comedy series set on Wall Street (Variety)

But we quickly discovered that the blogosphere can follow a bad script…

There are few original ideas on Wall Street...its no surprise that the gist of our first post was looted by other blogs with nary a shout out.

Meanwhile we are trying to figure out if we owe Sallie Krawcheck an apology...some people think our Holiday Gift idea for her husband was harsh.

Jeez, its not like I was firing golf balls at her house.
