Goldman Giveth and Goldman Taketh Away

In a reminder that the road running between Broad Street and Pennsylvania Avenue is actually a two-way street, Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick announce his plans to leave his post to take a position at Goldman Sachs. The former Fannie Mae exec and Treasury official called a spade a spade when commenting on his dashed hopes of landing the top spot at Treasury this time around: “If I had a choice between Hank Paulson and me, I’d choose Hank Paulson,” he told the Financial Times.
