Marty Lipton: I’m a Shallow Work-a-holic
Monday, December 19, 2005 - 8:12 am
The New York Observer this week devotes significant column inches to profiling the power lawyer Marty Lipton. What do we learn about the M&A and executive compensation advisor-for-hire? Well, he likes to work a lot (a lot!) and is does not get bogged down by existentialist introspection. Oh yeah, and his firm’s partners make 50% more on average than the next highest earning law firm on Wall Street. In 2004, according to The American Lawyer, Wachtell partners took home an average of $3.5 million; the second-place firm, Cahill, Gordon and Reindel, averaged $2.4 million. You go girl!
