MLB Mid-Season Report
My AL MVP goes to Magglio Ordonez. He’s leading the league in batting and up top in most of the other batting categories, as well as leading the Tigers to a division title. AL Cy Young at this point is Danny Haren on Oakland.
My NL MVP is Jose Reyes. Everyone always looks at those sexy power numbers for their MVP, but I’m going with speed. The Mets would be a second place team without him. NL Cy Young has to go to Jake Peavy-those K numbers and low ERA on a first place team.
A couple of under the radar guys this year are OF Eric Byrnes on Arizona and SP James Shields on Tampa Bay. Byrnes is a great all around player and I love the steals with some offensive pop. Also, has played all outfield positions and can bat lead off or clean up. SP James Shields on Tampa Bay is right up there in K’s with the big boys and 7 wins on a bad team.
