Jamie Dimon has many years left ahead in his storied career; today’s testimony will merely cement his legend. Suffice to say that Sandy Weill made a grievous error in forcing him out at Citi, but with Jessica Bibliowicz’s National Financial Partners (NFP-NYSE) stock in the toilet, and Dimon about to watch Citi’s stock, and possibly its operating units dismembered, Jamie gets the last laugh.

Dimon left Citigroup in November 1998. It was rumored at the time that he and Weill got into an argument in 1997 over the perceived lack of promotion given by Dimon to Weill’s daughter, Jessica M. Bibliowicz.[1] In his 2005 University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Fireside Chat and 2006 Kellogg School interviews, Dimon stated that he was fired by Weill. Wikipedia

Blood is thicker than water. And unfortunately for Weill, his legacy, unlike Dimon’s, is looking pretty tarnished.
