Packed Elevators at UBS
The turnover at UBS has been active this year. They are bringing in a FIG banker who had done stints at a few other shops, most notably Keefe, Bruyette. I would not relish having to compete with Keefe or Sandler O’Neill. UBS built a strong platform from a standing start 7 years ago, and finally witnessed a wave of departures. The recent defections might briefly dent them, but they will keep shoring up the foundation with more hires. Whoever is running that place might want to take stock of the MVP’s who work there...and get out your checkbook. You can’t afford to lose any more of them.
