Sandisk Back From the Dead

Are you a fan of earnings predictability? Then you don’t have much in common with Eli Hariri, the CEO of Sandisk (SNDK-NASDAQ). The company’s earnings are notoriously volatile, and this is one of the trickiest stocks known to man, given all the moving parts. Inventory, ASP and capacity issues usually hold more sway than historical earnings here, and analysts covering the stock no doubt spend an inordinate amount of time on the name. Chart readers and fast money love the name as well, given that the stock provides a thrill a minute. Everyone claims to own when it is ramping and when it craters of course they are short. Three months ago the only person who would admit owning it was Tim Strazzini of CNBC’s Fast Money. We miss the Risk Doctor, and hope he caught the ramp, wherever he is. Good Trading, Tim. no position
