Slam Dunk Sunday Night
The Soprano’s and professional sports have more in common than violence.
Tonight the NBA Finals go head-to-head with The Soprano’s in competing for your affections. The scheduling conflict might cause problems for hard-core sports addicts, who seem to be dwindling faster in numbers than Tony’s crew.
Ratings for Game 1 of this year’s NBA finals were the worst ever for a Final’s kickoff, and overall it was the third-least watched NBA Finals game ever. You have to go back to 1981, when the Lakers and Celtics were just beginning to work their Magic, to find a period of greater fan indifference.
Perhaps America has grown tired of the off-field antics of our sports heroes.
See you in Jersey tonight...9 PM sharp.
Game 1 third-lowest rated Finals game since ‘81
