With perhaps a wink and a nod, James Doran of the London Times describes the President Bush’s nominee for Treasury Secretary, Goldman Sachs chief Hank Paulson, as the “hardest man on Wall Street.” Unable to find a representative of his female underling’s, we’ll just have to take the British paper’s word for it. Initially reluctant to go work for a man with such a shitty record on the environment, Paulson reportedly caved when the “dumbest man on Pennsylvania Avenue” courted him in person. It’s a good thing Paulson’s already got a net worth in excess of $700 million cuz his new gig only pays $175K a year.
